Zachary J. Splain
Founder and Managing Attorney
Attorney Zachary Splain graduated from the University of Dayton in 2013 with a double major in History and lack of appealing career prospects. He enrolled at Case Western Reserve University School of Law in August 2014 and completed his Juris Doctorate degree in May 2017. Zach moved to Columbus, Ohio with his wife and immediately began looking for an opportunity to practice.

Zach began employment with the Columbus City Attorney's Office, Zone Initiative, where he assisted the staff attorneys prosecute nuisance and other problem properties. It was in the Zone Initiative where he first began practicing real estate law; albeit from the perspective of the City and nuisance abatement. However, this introduction would be instrumental as he developed a specialty for Ohio real estate law.

In March 2018 Zach accepted a position at Richardson Law in Dublin, Ohio. Fresh out of civic service, he used this opportunity to expand his practice focus beyond the limited scope of the Zone Initiative. In the private sector, and without the full suite of attorneys and support staff, Richardson Law provided Zach the opportunity to grow and excel independently. He began building and expanding his practice first through basic consumer protection sales act cases (CSPA O.R.C. 1345.01 et seq.) and then through other larger and more complex consumer and general business litigation.

​Notwithstanding the active litigation case load, Zach was keen to develop and distribute comprehensive business organizational tools and documents for small to medium sized businesses. This quickly became the focus of Splain Law.
In 2022 Zach was admitted into the State Bar of California, in addition to his Ohio practice. He now helps businesses in both states with general counsel, contract negotiations, and intellectual property, as well as general counsel and transactional services for real estate investors and real estate title servicing agents,

When he's not working with clients, Zach enjoys reading, hiking with his wife and dog, and a late night bowl of cereal.
